Great Movies of 2000

10. Road Trip

This is one of those teen age/college sex comedies. I don't condone these movies but I laughed. Tom Green was great as the story teller.

9. O Brother Where Are Thou

This took a while to grow on me. I had to watch it about 2 times before I started to like it. The soundtrack certainly helped a lot too.

8. Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas

It's hard to stretch a 30 minute cartoon and 25 pg book to a two hour movie, but this was an admirable attempt to do so. It's basically a Jim Carey piece and he pulls of this ability to command a movie. Very cute.

7. Charlie's Angels

The year 2000 was the year of the girls. Charlie's Angels is proof of that. Take three beautiful girls and give them momemts to kick some booty and employ some Matrix type effects and you have a very fast moving and entertaining movie.

6. Bring It On

I would never admit that I watched a cheerleader movie, but I did and I liked it. Cute, fun and not too formulaic. Great moves and of course there's the girl faction. That helps a lot.

5. Chocolat

I was dragged to see this movie. I normally wouldn't see a film like this. Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp are excellent. You really have to want to see this movie.

4. Cast Away

3. Miss Congeniality

2. X-Men

X-men is the best movie adaptation of a comic book. Great use of the X-men characters.

1. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
